Introduction: Self-efficacy is an effective factor in self-care behaviors in diabetic patients. Providing evidence-based nursing care can improve the health of this group of patients. This study was conducted to determine the effect of training and applying of evidence-based care for diabetic foot on the self-efficacy of patients with diabetic foot ulcers. Material and Methods: This clinical trial study was conducted on 60 patients with diabetic foot ulcers who were referred to Shahid Noorani Hospital in Talesh City in 2023. Patients were selected by the convenience sampling method and were randomly assigned into two groups using a two-group random sequence. Evidence- based care for diabetic foot education was provided in one session with groups of 5 people in the intervention group. Data were collected through a demographic form and the Beecher Foot Care Self-Efficacy Questionnaire before, immediately, and 4 weeks after the intervention. The data was analyzed using SPSS software version 27 and a variance test with repeated measurement. Results: The mean age of participants was 47.70±6.396 and 46.53±6.095 in the experimental and control group, respectively. Based on the results of the Bonferroni post hoc test, there was a significant difference in the mean foot care self-efficacy score between the participants in the two groups immediately (P<0.001) and 4 weeks (P<0.001) after the intervention. Conclusion: According to this study's findings, training and applying evidence- based care for diabetic foot increased the self-efficacy of patients with diabetic foot ulcers. Therefore, healthcare team members, especially nurses, can improve patients' self-efficacy by informing them about how to take care of themselves, including foot care.
